Substack is still rather unheard platform, although it has been on since 2017.
There are 3 thing that I truly love about this platform.
1. No ads
On substack you get what you subscribe to. This is like step back from Instagram, Facebook and Youtube where you nowadays get more algorithm based ads than the actual things that you'd like to see and follow. Here you might get a recommendation of another writer but that's about it. You only get the things that you subscribed to.
2. Substack promotes the idea that writers and content creators should be paid for their work.
I have been writing for years in social media and never got paid a cent of it. I love writing and would love exploring more topics via writing. To get relaxed and creative I need an income and this is what substack promotes via subscription model. If you like it, support it, as you would any magazine.
The platform is free to use, but substack takes a 10% cut from everything that I make. Anyone can easily start writing.
3. The community and creators on the platform
Since I started to get familiar with substack, I noticed that the atmosphere is super warm, bubbly, creative and supportive. Just the kind of people that I love. Everyone sharing their unique things and supporting others via collaborations.
Since the platform supports writing, voice and video it was a no brainer for me to launch Anew on this platform, because of the many options that I might have.
You can use substack online or get the app here:
There are many features available like notes, chats etc... but I'll get to those while I learn the platform more myself.
If you like, share in the comments what's your relationship with substack, are you new like me here or been here for a while already? If so, what you like the best here?
Love,
Nina
